NHM Chandigarh Specialist Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview
National Health Mission (NHM), U.T, Chandigarh has released an official notification for the recruitment of Specialist Doctors under PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). Walk-in interview for empanelment of Specialists in Medicine and Surgery will be held on 20th January 2026. Eligible candidates will be paid Rs. 2,000/- per slot of two hours and may work for two slots per day in different health facilities of Chandigarh.
NHM Chandigarh Specialist Recruitment 2026 – Overview
NHM Chandigarh invites qualified candidates for temporary engagement as Specialist Doctors (Medicine and Surgery) under PMABHIM. The engagement is purely on honorarium basis and specialists will not be employees of NHM Chandigarh. Candidates should have requisite qualifications and be registered with the State Medical Council or the Medical Council of India.

Eligibility Criteria
- Specialist (Medicine): MBBS Degree with MD/DNB/Diploma in Medicine. Must be registered with State Medical Council or MCI. CCC+ course (120 hours) preferable. Experience in relevant field advantageous.
- Specialist (Surgery): MBBS Degree with MS/DNB/Diploma in Surgery. Must be registered with State Medical Council or MCI. CCC+ course (120 hours) preferable. Experience in relevant field advantageous.
- Age Limit: Candidates up to 62 years eligible.
- Registration: Candidate must be registered with State Medical Council or Medical Council of India.
Terms & Conditions for Specialists
- Engagement purely on honorarium per slot basis.
- Temporary engagement; not an employee of NHM Chandigarh.
- Timings: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Slot 1) & 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM (Slot 2), Summer & Winter.
- Specialists may work in two slots at different health facilities per day.
- Honorarium: Rs. 2,000/- per slot, paid monthly based on slots worked, verified by Medical Officers I/c.
- No claim for regular appointment against any post in NHM.
- Liability for negligence rests on specialists; NHM/Health Department not responsible.
- No membership to GPF/CPF/GIS.
- No official accommodation, conveyance allowance, HRA, EPF/ESI deductions, gratuity, or leaves.
- Age relaxation: Up to 62 years only.
Walk-in Interview Details
- Date: 20th January 2026
- Reporting Time: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM (strictly)
- Venue: Office of Mission Director, NHM, 4th Floor, Administrative Block, Govt. Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh
- Application Procedure: Submit Biodata on Application Format (available on NHM website) along with self-attested copies of certificates (from matriculation onwards) and one recent passport size photograph attested by Gazetted Officer. Bring original certificates for verification.
- TA/DA: Not admissible
- Selection: Based on verification of documents and interview performance.

Important Notes
- The Mission Director reserves the right to cancel or reject walk-in interview without assigning any reason.
- Specialists will not be entitled to any other benefits like EPF, ESI, gratuity, housing, conveyance, or leaves.
- Specialists shall perform duties diligently; negligence or misconduct may lead to termination.
- Honorarium will be calculated based on slots worked and paid monthly.
- Age limit strictly 62 years; no relaxation beyond this.
