IIT Dharwad Audit Consultant Recruitment 2026 – Overview
IIT Dharwad, established in 2016 as an Institute of National Importance, invites online applications for the post of Audit Consultant on a one-year contract basis. The selected candidate will contribute to internal audit and financial management functions at the Institute. The contract may be renewed annually based on performance and approval of the Competent Authority.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian citizen.
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
- Experience: Retired or due for retirement [on or before 31 July 2026] from Central Government/Central Autonomous Bodies/PSU, minimum Pay Level 8 (7th CPC) or equivalent, physically fit, with at least 5 years in a supervisory position handling Finance/Audit/Accounts. Exceptional candidates may get relaxed criteria.
- Age Limit: Maximum 65 years as on the closing date.
Duration & Terms of Engagement
The engagement is initially for 1 year, renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance. Contractual terms follow Department of Education OM No. 3-25/2020-E.IIIA. No regular employment benefits (housing, medical, etc.) are provided.
Salary / Remuneration
- As per Ministry of Finance OM No. 3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 9 Dec 2020 and OM dated 18 Oct 2023.
- In other cases, 50% of last basic pay drawn at retirement is considered.
- Other benefits remain unchanged as per rules.
