East Coast Railway has officially released the Sports Quota Recruitment Notification 2025-26 for recruitment of eligible Indian sportspersons against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement). The notification has been issued on 10 January 2026 and applications must reach the office on or before 09 February 2026 (18:00 Hrs). For candidates residing in Andaman, Nicobar & Lakshadweep Islands, the last date is 24 February 2026.
East Coast Railway Sports Quota Recruitment 2025-26 – Overview
East Coast Railway has invited applications from talented and eligible Indian sportspersons for recruitment under the Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2025-26. This recruitment aims to encourage outstanding sportspersons to build a stable career in Indian Railways while continuing their contribution to sports at national and international levels.
The recruitment process is purely merit based and selection will be done through sports trials, evaluation of sports achievements, and verification of educational qualifications. Candidates selected under this quota may be posted anywhere under East Coast Railway jurisdiction after completion of all pre-appointment formalities.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must strictly fulfil all eligibility conditions on the date of submission of application. Applications of ineligible candidates will be rejected at any stage of recruitment.
- Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Sports Status: Candidate must be an active sportsperson.
- Sports Achievement Date: Sports achievements should be on or after 01 April 2023.
- Recognised Events: Championships must be conducted under recognised International / National / State Sports Federations and recognised by Railway Sports Promotion Board.
Minimum Sports Norms – Pay Level Wise
East Coast Railway has prescribed minimum sports norms for recruitment under different pay levels. Candidates must meet at least one of the criteria mentioned below.
