Essential Qualification
- MBBS Degree from a recognized Medical Institution or University.

Postgraduate Qualification in Ophthalmology:
- Master of Surgery (M.S.) in Ophthalmology, OR
- Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology, OR
- Diploma in Ophthalmology
Desirable Qualification
Although not mandatory, candidates having the following additional skills and experience will be given preference during selection:
- Competency in Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) / Phacoemulsification
- Training or experience in sub-specialities such as Cornea, Glaucoma or Medical Retina
- Exposure to Community Ophthalmology
- Experience in conducting community eye screening programmes and eye health education
