Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following educational qualifications, age criteria, and essential requirements to apply for IAF Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027:

Educational Qualifications

  • For Science Stream Candidates: Passed Intermediate/10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English from recognized boards with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation, IT) from recognized polytechnic institutes with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in 10+2 if English not a subject in Diploma.
  • Passed two years Vocational Course in non-vocational subjects (Physics & Mathematics) with 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English, or as applicable from recognized boards.
  • For Other Streams: Passed 10+2/Intermediate in any stream from recognized boards with 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Two-year Vocational Course in any recognized board with same marks criteria applies if English is not in the course syllabus.

Essential Requirements

  • Only education boards recognized by Central, State, or UT are accepted.
  • Exact aggregate percentage before decimal in mark sheet will be considered (e.g., 49.99% = 49%).
  • Candidates eligible for Science Subjects may also appear in Other than Science Subjects exam simultaneously.

Salary / Stipend

Agniveervayu candidates will receive stipend/salary as per year of service and Seva Nidhi contribution. Approximate details are:

  • 1st Year: ₹30,000 per month (In-hand ₹21,000 + Corpus ₹9,000)
  • 2nd Year: ₹33,000 per month (In-hand ₹23,100 + Corpus ₹9,900)
  • 3rd Year: ₹36,500 per month (In-hand ₹25,550 + Corpus ₹10,950)
  • 4th Year: ₹40,000 per month (In-hand ₹28,000 + Corpus ₹12,000)
  • Additional benefits: Risk & Hardship Allowances, Dress & Travel Allowances, Ration, Clothing, Accommodation, LTC as per rules.
  • Seva Nidhi Package: Approx ₹10.04 Lakhs after 4 years (candidate + government contribution ₹5.02 lakh each, excluding interest)
  • Insurance: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover ₹48 Lakhs for engagement period
  • No gratuity or pension entitlement; no PF contribution required.

Selection Process for IAF Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027

The selection of candidates for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 will be a rigorous, multi-stage process ensuring that only physically and mentally fit candidates are enrolled. The stages are designed to test academic knowledge, reasoning skills, physical endurance, adaptability, and medical fitness. Candidates are advised to prepare for all phases carefully to increase their chances of selection.

Phase-I: Online Test

  • Mode: Online (Objective Type, Bilingual – English & Hindi except English paper)
  • Duration:
    • Science Stream: 60 minutes (Physics, Mathematics, English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus)
    • Other than Science Stream: 45 minutes (English, Reasoning & General Awareness – RAGA)
    • Candidates appearing for both: 85 minutes (Physics, Mathematics, English, RAGA)
  • Marking Pattern: +1 for correct answer, 0 for unattempted, -0.25 for wrong answer
  • Normalisation of Marks: Applied if necessary to balance difficulty levels across sessions
  • Qualification: Candidates must pass each paper separately with normalised marks if applied

Phase-II: Testing at Airmen Selection Centres (ASC)

Candidates shortlisted from Phase-I will undergo the following state-wise assessments at designated ASCs:

  • Document Verification: Verification of educational certificates, identity, domicile, and other required documents.
  • Physical Fitness Tests (PFT-I & PFT-II):
    • PFT-I: 1.6 km run – Male: within 7 min, Female: within 8 min
    • PFT-II Male: 10 Push-ups (1 min), 10 Sit-ups (1 min), 20 Squats (1 min)
    • PFT-II Female: 10 Sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 Squats (1 min)
    • Breaks & Recuperation: 10 minutes between PFT-I & PFT-II, 2 minutes break between exercises in PFT-II
  • Adaptability Test-I: Objective type written test evaluating situational and decision-making abilities.
  • Adaptability Test-II: Conducted as per policy to assess candidates’ mental and emotional resilience.

Phase-III: Medical Examination

Medical examination will be conducted by a certified IAF Medical Team as per Air Force medical standards. It includes baseline investigations and any additional tests deemed necessary:

  • Blood Haemogram
  • Urine Tests
  • Biochemistry Tests
  • Chest X-Ray
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Ultrasound (for female candidates)
  • Additional investigations if required by the Recruiting Medical Officer

Final Selection
