Eligibility Criteria
Public Relations Officer (Level 10)
- Master’s in Mass Communication & Journalism or equivalent with ≥60% marks, OR Master’s in any discipline + PG Diploma in Journalism.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in reputed media or as PRO in recognized university.
- Desirable: Knowledge of computers, local languages, social media handling, report writing experience.
Assistant Registrar (Level 10)
- Master’s degree in any discipline with ≥60% marks (UGC Grade B acceptable).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years administrative experience in supervisory role in Govt./University/PSU at Pay Level 7/8.
- Desirable: Law/Management/Engineering degree, CA/CWA qualification, computerised admin/finance experience.
Sports Officer (Level 10)
- Master’s in Physical Education/Sports Science (≥60%) or B.P.Ed with 7 years experience.
- Specialization in at least one sport; University/National representation required.
Fire and Safety Officer (Level 8)
- Bachelor’s degree with ≥60% marks.
- 1-year diploma/certification in Fire & Safety Management.
- 5 years experience in fire supervision; handling firearms; valid LMV license desirable.
Senior Laboratory Officer (Level 8)
- Master’s in Engineering/Science with 60% marks + 5 years experience, or Bachelor’s 4 years + 7 years, or Bachelor’s Science 3 years + 8 years.
Laboratory Officer (Level 6)
- Master’s/ Bachelor’s / Diploma in Engineering/Science as per experience requirements.
- Desirable: Proficiency in office automation and relevant software.
Junior Section Officer & Assistant Sports Officer (Level 6)
- Master’s/Bachelor’s with relevant experience in administration, audit, purchase, or sports coaching.
- Desirable: PG Diploma/HR, financial management, sports coaching certificate.
Laboratory Assistant & Senior Assistant (Level 5)
- Master’s/Bachelor’s/Diploma in Engineering/Science/any discipline as per post with 1-3 years relevant experience.
- Desirable: Knowledge of office automation, software, and trade-specific tools.
Salary / Pay Scale
- Group A (Level-10): ₹56,100 – ₹177,500 per month
- Group B (Level-8): ₹47,600 – ₹151,100 per month
- Group B (Level-6): ₹35,400 – ₹112,400 per month
- Group C (Level-5): ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month
- All posts eligible for usual allowances under IIT Jammu rules.
Age Limit (as on 03/02/2026)
- Group A: 45 years
- Group B: 35-40 years
- Group C: 33 years
- Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwD/Ex-Servicemen as per GoI norms

Selection Process
- Group A: Screening, written test, proficiency test, computer test, presentation & interview.
- Group B & C: Screening, written test, proficiency test, computer test.
- Each stage is elimination-based; minimum qualifying marks: 50% per stage, 60% total.
- Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Government norms.
- Institute reserves right to modify recruitment stages.
- Final selection depends on merit over minimum qualifying levels.
