Eligibility Criteria Explained
Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions related to educational qualification, professional experience, age limit and pay scale as on 01 January 2026. Applications not meeting the prescribed criteria will be rejected.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, or
- Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or
- Computer Science Engineering, or

Experience Requirement
- IRSSE / Ex-IRSSE officers with experience in Signalling and Telecommunication departments
- Minimum 18 years of service at Gazetted / Executive level in Government organizations, PSUs, Metros or Railways
- Experience in computerized working environment is mandatory
- Candidate must be free from Vigilance and D&AR cases
Pay Scale Eligibility
For Direct Recruitment / Deputation
- Working in CDA Pay Level-14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200) or higher, or
- IDA pay scale of ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000 or higher
- Officers in Non-Functional SAG at Level-14 are also eligible
For PRCE
- Working in or retired from Level-14 CDA or equivalent IDA scale
- Minimum 18 years of Gazetted / Executive service
Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)
- Direct Recruitment: Maximum 58 years
- Deputation: Maximum 55 years
- Post Retirement Contractual Engagement (PRCE): Minimum 55 years and Maximum 62 years
