DRDO Young Scientist Laboratory - Artificial Intelligence (DYSL AI) is a premier research laboratory under the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate degree in professional course (B.E/B.Tech) in first division with NET/GATE, or
  • Post Graduate degree in professional course (M.E/M.Tech) in first division at both Graduate and Post Graduate level, or
  • Post Graduate degree in Basic Science in first division with NET qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
  • Expertise in at least one major programming language (Python, Java, C++, etc.).
  • Knowledge of classical AI algorithms, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques.
  • Experience with software libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, TensorRT, PyTorchMobile.
  • Specialization in one of the following domains:
    • Speech and language technology, NLP, Machine Translation.
    • 3D Vision and SLAM, ROS.
    • Computer Vision including Generative Models.
    • Reinforcement Learning.

Salary / Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹37,000/- per month plus HRA. Total emoluments currently approximate ₹48,100/- per month. Accommodation may be provided subject to availability, in which case HRA will be deducted.

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 28 years as on date of interview.
  • Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC candidates.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting based on GATE score or percentage in qualifying degree.
  • Shortlisted candidates will appear for personal/online interview at DYSL AI Bangalore or via Video Conferencing.

General Instructions

  • The fellowship is temporary and does not guarantee absorption in DRDO.
  • Tenure: 2 years as JRF, followed by elevation to SRF subject to annual performance review.
  • Candidates must attach proof of CGPA to percentage conversion from their university.
  • DYSL AI reserves the right to modify or cancel this recruitment at any stage.
  • No TA/DA for attending interview or joining.
  • Candidates may register for part-time Ph.D. during fellowship tenure with approval of DYSL AI.
