Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed ITI certified by NCVT in the respective trade applied for.
- Trades: Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Machinist (Grinder), Carpenter, Welder, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, Electronics Mechanic, Attendant Operator Chemical Plant, Painter, COPA, Foundryman.
- Experience Restrictions: Candidate must not have previously undergone or currently undergoing apprenticeship at DRDL or other establishments. Candidates terminated from DRDL or twice from any other establishment are not eligible.
- Age Limit: As per government apprenticeship rules (standard limits under Apprentices Act, 1961).
- Nationality: Indian citizens only.
Stipend / Training Duration
Selected candidates will be engaged as ITI Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The engagement is for a period of one year, starting from 01-Apr-2026 to 31-Mar-2027. The stipend will be provided as per Government of India norms for apprenticeship training. Note that completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee any employment in DRDL.

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for ITI Apprenticeship at DRDL will be conducted based on the following steps:
- Document Verification & Screening: Applications will be checked for correct educational qualification, ITI trade, and document authenticity.
- Notification to Shortlisted Candidates: Shortlisted candidates will be informed via registered email ID on the Apprenticeship Portal. No separate communication will be sent.
- Original Certificate Verification: Candidates must bring all original certificates during the verification at DRDL premises.
- Reservation Policy: SC, ST, OBC, and PwD reservations will be applied as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Final Selection: Conducted by the Selection & Screening Committee of DRDL based on documents and eligibility verification.
How to Apply – Step by Step

- Online Application:
- Visit the official Apprenticeship Portal: www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in
- Complete profile registration with personal details, educational qualifications, and ITI trade.
- Upload all required documents and signature in prescribed format.
- Complete Aadhaar verification successfully.
- Note down the Apprentice Registration Number for future reference.
- Ensure 100% completion of the profile before submission.
- Physical Application Submission:
- After online registration, download and fill the application in the prescribed format (Appendix-A).
- Attach true copies of all uploaded documents: SSC Certificate, ITI Certificate, Caste Certificate (if applicable), PwD Certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar Card, and proof of online application.
- Place the application in a closed envelope and superscribe: "APPLICATION FOR ITI APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING AT DRDL for the period 01-Apr-2026 to 31-Mar-2027".
