Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has officially launched its first two electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7, in India. This move marks a key milestone as the brand sets foot in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets, promising a combination of attractive pricing, strong range figures, and premium features.

Pricing and Variants

• VinFast VF6: Earth – ₹16.49 lakh, Wind – ₹17.79 lakh, Wind Infinity – ₹18.29 lakh (all ex-showroom).
• VinFast VF7: Earth – ₹20.89 lakh, Wind – ₹23.49 lakh, Wind Infinity – ₹23.99 lakh, Sky – ₹24.99 lakh, Sky Infinity – ₹25.49 lakh (all ex-showroom).

Performance and Battery

The VF6 is powered by a 59.6kWh battery pack. The Eco trim delivers 174 hp and 250 Nm torque with a claimed range of 399 km, while the Plus trim offers 201 hp and 310 Nm torque with 381 km of range. The VF7 offers both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options powered by a 70.8kWh battery, making it a premium alternative in the mid-size EV SUV segment.

Design and Features

Both models feature modern styling cues, LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, a 12.9-inch infotainment system, HUD, Level 2 ADAS, and dual-tone interiors. The VF6 caters to city-focused buyers, while the VF7 is aimed at those seeking a larger, more premium EV SUV.

Dealerships and Availability

VinFast is setting up 32 dealerships across 27 cities in India in its first phase, with plans to expand to 35 outlets by the end of 2025. The VF6 and VF7 are locally assembled at the company’s new plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, ensuring competitive pricing and faster delivery timelines.
