Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum qualification of Matric (10th) from any recognized school/institution in Himachal Pradesh.
  • Bonafide Himachali candidates are exempted from the requirement of having passed matric from a Himachal school.
  • Knowledge of animal husbandry activities, as well as customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience in animal husbandry, verified through certificates as per Annexure-B of the official notification.

Salary / Stipend

The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend of ₹5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only). This stipend is in line with the Department’s policies for contractual engagement of Pashu Mitras and may be revised as per government instructions in the future.

Age Limit (as on 31 January 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 45 years
  • Age relaxation may be provided to reserved category candidates as per HP government norms.

Selection Process

The recruitment process for Multi Task Worker (Pashu Mitra) posts consists of the following stages:

  • Physical Test: Candidates must be able to carry 25 Kg weight for 100 meters within one minute. The date, venue, and schedule will be intimated separately.
  • Merit List Preparation: The Pashu Mitra Engagement Committee (PMEC) will prepare a panel of 5 candidates for each institution based on merit, considering matric marks, experience, and physical test results.
  • Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present original certificates for verification at the time of counselling.
  • Final Engagement: Candidates meeting all requirements will receive an engagement letter. A medical fitness certificate as per Annexure-C must be submitted before joining.
  • Waiting List: Candidates on the waiting panel will remain valid for one year, and vacancies may be filled from the panel if selected candidates fail to join within 15 days or disengage during the year.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  • Application must be submitted on the prescribed form (Annexure-A) using A-4 size paper only. Applications in any other format will be rejected.
  • Application form must be filled in candidate’s own handwriting using blue or black ink ballpoint pen.
  • All educational qualifications and other essential criteria must be fulfilled by the last date of submission.
  • Incomplete applications (missing signatures, photograph, enclosures, or columns left blank) or applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.
  • Self-attested photocopies of all relevant certificates must be attached with the application form. Originals will be verified at counselling.
  • Detailed marks sheet of matriculation must be attached. Evaluation for shortlisting will be based on matric marks only, even if the candidate has higher qualifications.
  • Engagement letters will be issued after verification, and candidates must submit medical fitness certificate prior to joining.

How to Apply

  1. Download the prescribed application form (Annexure-A) from the official website: hpagrisnet.gov.in.
  2. Fill the application carefully in your own handwriting and attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents.
  3. Submit the completed application to the Senior Veterinary Officer (SVO) of the respective Sub Divisional Veterinary Hospital where the candidate wishes to be engaged, as listed in Annexure-D.
  4. Applications must reach the SVO office on or before 31 January 2026 by 3 PM.
  5. No application will be accepted after the deadline.
  6. Original certificates and documents must be presented at the time of counselling for verification.
