DRDO ISSA Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate Apprentice (Computer Science & Engineering): B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (full-time regular course) with First Division from a recognized Indian University/Institute.
- Graduate Apprentice (Mathematics): M.Sc in Mathematics (full-time regular course) with First Division from a recognized Indian University/Institute.
- Technician Apprentice (Computer Science): Diploma (full-time regular) in Computer Science from an institute recognized by State/Central Government.
Additional Eligibility Conditions:
- Only candidates who passed the qualifying examination in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025 are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship are not eligible.
- Candidates having one year or more work experience are not eligible.
- Qualifying examination must be passed as a regular candidate.
- Enrollment on NATS portal is mandatory before applying.
DRDO ISSA Apprentice Age Limit 2026
The age limit for DRDO ISSA Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and rules framed thereunder. Age relaxation will be applicable for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates as per Government of India norms.
DRDO ISSA Apprentice Selection Process 2026
- Selection will be based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination in the relevant discipline.
- Merit list will be prepared category-wise (UR/SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
- Applications will be scrutinized by a Board constituted by Director, ISSA.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email only.

Training Details and Stipend
- Training Duration: 12 Months.
- Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300/- for Graduate Apprentices and ₹10,900/- for Technician Apprentices.
- Completion Certificate will be issued after successful completion of training.
- No boarding or lodging facilities will be provided.
- Completion of apprenticeship does not guarantee employment in DRDO/ISSA.
Reservation Policy
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD categories will be followed as per the guidelines issued under the Apprentices Act. Candidates claiming reservation must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format at the time of document verification.
